Consultation is an initial interview conducted by a psychotherapist or psychiatrist. It takes 50 minutes and its aim is to collect information about the presenting problem, its context, history, background. This is essential to make an initial diagnosis and offer the most suitable form of help, considering the needs and capabilities of the patient.

Decision regarding the most adequate form of help is made jointly by the consulting psychotherapist and the patient. After the consultation patients are referred to our office where they are informed about the availability of the required specialists.

The therapy takes place once (or sometimes twice) a week. A psychotheraputic session lasts 50 minutes. Depending on the initial agreement between the patient and the psychotherapist, therapy can take from several weeks to several months or years.

The basis of psychotherapy offered in Laboratorium is psychodynamic theory.
